Midsummer is a great time for herb gardens, because there are buds and blooms everywhere. This is a powerful time to gather herbs, and also to prepare and use them. Any fresh herb can be dried simply by picking it and tying it up in small bundles in a well-ventilated area. Once they are completely dry store them in airtight jars in a dark place.
To make your own magical summer incense, first determine what form you’d like to make. You can make incense with sticks and in cones, but the easiest k…

The Gossamer Court is certainly the realm of many very creative minds, but one creative moment does hold a place above the rest when we called a creative art circle a few years ago, during a particularly cold winter. Our friend Angie, a bit of a nut, showed up with her yarn, hooks and a piece of cardboard with all kinds of measurements on it. It nearly gave a few of us seizures looking at it.
As we got underway, at about noon, the circle lasting until 6pm, Angie began talking about her two sons…

Many Blessings,
A few folks have expressed interest over the last couple of years in having a Starwood alchemical fire hosted by the Gossamer Court.. Attached is a note from Dancing Tree Joe: Prince of The Dancing Flame and Fire Master extraordinaire of The Gossamer Court, among other wonderful efforts.
If you have something to contribute like you wish to be a part of bliss patrol, watering the dancers and drummers, donations of supplies, food etc... , please let me know...

Hi all!! So sorry i haven't been on as much as I usually am but it's been a lot of moving this past week. Hubby and I just bought our first home so it's been a exciting move! I can't tell you how happy I am not to have to move again! We have until August 30th to move but we are so excited we are staying at the new house but still have stuff at the old house. So I don't really have to haul butt but just really excited! Well I better get ready for work.
Peace, Love, and Light,
Kara

..“Oh, do not tell the priest our plight, or he would call it a sin,
But we've been out in the woods all night, a-conjuring summer in,
And we bring you good news by word of mouth, good news for cattle
and corn,
Now is the sun come up from the south, by Oak, and Ash, and horn.”
Many Blessings Fellow Tree Huggers,
Even if you are not going to Starwood you can still make a difference helping nature along, with conservation and replenishment. You are encouraged to do so wherever and whenever you c…

In '97 I had the misfortune of meeting D***** B***** B******. I was new to the small texas town my sister lived in and we had gone out to one of the more popular dance places. It wasn't huge but it drew a good crowd on the weekends. When he first walked into the place, every female head turned and followed him as he made his way to the bar. He was tanned and blond and dressed in white. He was extremely goodlooking.
That was the first time I saw him. Several months had gone by and during the tim…

Caveat: the following may only apply to the western traditions.
From time to time someone will throw out the idea that their "tradition" goes back for a really, Really, REALLY long time and that they can trace their tradition to some "ancient authoritative source". I take exception to this idea for several reasons.
First off, how does one know that a 'name' is authoritative? In most cases we have no historical basis for such a claim and the few we do have (e.g. Solomon, Zoroaster of Persia, Ho…

In a perfect world, any person drawn to Wicca or Paganism would have ample space to perform rituals. We'd all have a big field, somewhere out in the woods, ringed with tall trees and perhaps a few standing stones. There would be no nosy neighbors or pesky roommates nearby, the altar would be a perfectly flat rock or stump, a soft breeze blowing gently through the clear night air…
But realistically, that doesn’t happen for most of us. In fact, for some people -- particularly if you live in a dor…

If you feel like you are pushing a huge boulder up a steep hill on this Full Moon in Capricorn, blame it on retrograde Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron. Ouch! Well, what other Full Moon could face this kind of struggle by shrugging its shoulders, and saying, “So what else is new?” Thank you Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, the great teacher o…

I'm not braining well today, so I'll try to explain this as best I can. I'm biracial. On my father's side I'm African-American. (I hate that term by the way. It takes too long to type) on my mother's side I'm French, Scots, Irish, Welsh, English, Cherokee. For the purpose of simplicity, we'll just say I'm half black and half white.
I am a pagan of indeterminate flavour. I haven't yet chosen a specific path. I'm not an initiate into any tradition. I putter along, reading a lot, observing a lot,…

So, last night I was very upset to have a blog post not make it to my page. There was nothing I could do about it, my internet died at the wrong time and cyberspace ate my work. I was very unhappy indeed. I cannot even begin to replicate what I said because it all came from my heart. So, I am extremely sad that a piece of my heart and soul is now part of the net in a way I wasn't expecting it to be. I'm going to try to replicate it, it will not be the same but it will be similar and that will ha…
