Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Married
Age
well on my way to 100
Astrological Sign
Capricorn
About Me:

Whilst this is no a picture of me, twould be how I rather fancy myself during the olde time period...awe to be young, beautiful and live in a past time, where honour and love were all that mattered.... "a girl can dream, can't she?"

Child of Universe, Lover of Nature, Animals and Mankind Ok now I am ready to add more information here:

I am first and foremost a woman, who is a young 54 married to a wonderful man who is the Laird of our Clan. He is forever my Highlander. We have 1 adult daughter and 1 teenage daughter and a new grandson with a very good scottish name, Alexander Duncan. I took an early retirement as a sheriff's sergeant in 1998, to stay home with my, then 3 year old, daughter. My husband is a high Ranking officer in our Fire Department and a firefighter/paramedic/pediatric trauma nurse, too. I walk the pagan path of Wicca and have keen interests in the Druids, as my family came to Canada from Knapdale, Argyll, Scotland and from County Derry, Ireland. My grandmother was a McGregor and we descend from the MacGregor, MacClean and Duncan Clans.

I take care of an aging parent which limits some of my activities. I am a genealogical researcher; researching in the USA, Canada and the UK. My mother's family immigrated from Germany to the USA in the 1700's and were members of the Moravian Faith. I prefer my scottish roots as I am more closely connected to them. I am also a member of the NSDAR as my fifth great grandfather fought in the Revolutionary War and I've been able to prove that descendant line with documentation.

I am not ashamed of any work that I have done in my life, though people tend to shy away from me when I say that I am a retired cop. I have no connections to that part of my life. I will from time to time mention it as it relates to a story that I am telling. That part of my life is part of who I am. I do not judge people for their lifestyle or their past. Our past, whether good or bad, is a part of who we are. Dwelling on the negative aspects of our past is not healthy but learning from them is what makes us stronger.

I have high expectations of honor, trust and loyalty. I do not like people who I cannot trust as this is a clear violation of the path that I have chosen. I wish no ill to anyone, only happiness and enlightenment.
Favorite Books
Historical Romance novels, with a keen likeness to the Scottish-Time Travel Romance
I also like to read books on different paths of faith to make my self aware of what is out there. I am still learning, every day.
Beliefs / Practices
Pagan, Druid
Other Beliefs/Practices
I've a keen association with those who practice wicca...and a tendancy to rely on witchcraft at times...This does no make me an indecisive practioner, as some might think, but cunning enought to employ and unite those aspects of the two paths to my liking.
Hobbies
Quilting, Sewing, Machine Embroidery work, teaching when I'm allowed the time, craft work, painting and genealogy work.
Heroes
My Husband & my late Sire
Likes
Old Scotch-Irish ballads, Celtic music, Some classical...Ode to Joy is my favorite, music of the 30's, 40's, 50's 60's and 70's... I like the BlueRidge Mountains of North Carolina & Virginia, sitting by the fire and reading historical romance novels, any type of historical or biographical books and books that cover aspects of different paths. I like thunderstorms and like to sleep when it's raining and/or cold. Well damn I could write a book on all that I like...suffice it to say that there's not much I don't like....
Dislikes
People who are untruthful, take things that are not their's and who basically have no Honor. Arrogant behavior without the knowledge to deserve such arrogance. "Path Jumpers", people who jump from one path to the next based on their desire to be noticed or accepted. People who claim a heritage that they cannot prove through documentation and/or research. Anyone can say they "are" but not many can "prove" they are....

I dislike rap, country and several other types of music..

A moment of Despair

Not oft do I find myself filled with such melancholy that my day is overtaken by it, though that is exactly what I've done. Sometimes I feel the weight of the world is set upon me and there seems to be no escaping it. What I wouldn't give for days where nothiContinue

The Mud-Flap verses The Pagan Mom %#$@#$%$#

Well it's days like today that make me sit back and wonder many things......not the least of which will be where one dumbass good ole' country boy, who showed his stupid ass in the Desoto Square Mall, might be right now....or from what rock he crawled out.

'Tis been a damn long time since I wanted to whip out my badge and shove it in someone's face, but today was the day. Good thing for "dickhead" that I'm retired for if I weren't his ass would most definitely be spending the night in a hold

Mo Ghile Mear an Scotch-Irish song of a Woman's lament over the loss of bonnie Prince Charlie

MacGregor's Gathering Poem & Meeting with a Stranger a poem by Kelly MacGregor

MacGregor's Gathering

The moon's on the lake, and the mist's on the brae,
And our clan has a name that is nameless by day;
Then gather, gather, gather Gregalich!

Our signal for fight, which from monarchs we drew,
Must be heard but by night, in ou… Continue

Growing Older in Increments

As I grow older ( I am soon to be 54) I find that I have, unconsciously, stopped the aging process in my mind at certain points of my life. I know that does not make sense but hear me out. When I was a kid I couldn't wait to be 18 so when I became that age I began to think of myself… Continue

Love ya Mom!!!

~Have a wonderful Holiday weekend my friend !! Love & Hugs Balor~

Late summer days are perfect now, sunny, calm, serene
While Mother Nature changes clothes to tint our summer scene.
The gauzy purple twilight envelops every night
While streaks of peach and flaming orange hide sunset from our sight.
Wildflowers on the forest edge sway in gentle breeze
Soon they'll shed their blossoms too, as summer takes her leave.
Next phase is Autumn's sleight-of-hand with colors bright and true
'Til Mother Nature's restless hand wipes them all from view.
Savor these sweet tranquil days they're certain not to last
We'll wish we had them back again when feeling Winters blast.

Hi Gwendolynn!

Thank you so much for the Solstice greeting! I love the graphic and I love the verse by Robert Louis Stevenson. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I've been busy like a lunatic on lunacy steroids! Lol. Anyway, thanks again and I hope you had a fabulous Litha. Ours was good. I hope you and your laird are as well as can be and all is going well for you.

Blessings to you Lady Gwen, I hope you had a brilliant solstice, and were surrounded by those you love, I keep you in my thought, and pray that you are well, May the Goddess watch over you always.
Blessed Be...

I do not read a bible,
Or go to church on Sunday,
I do not go to youth group,
Or use rosaries while I pray.

Life in itself is reverence enough,
I’m a protector of Mother Earth, and Father Sky,
Green Gala is my guiding faith,
Not Satanism, or lies.

A man on a cross is not for me,
I do not grovel well,
The Summerland is where I’ll be,
Not destination Hell.

Who would be so reckless you ask,
To say such blasphemies aloud,
I am not afraid to tell you so,
Because I am Pagan, and Proud.
