Biased Tarot Readings

What is the general opinion of having a Tarot card reading performed by someone close to you and who has intimate knowledge of your life? The reason for the question is my grandaughter's stepfather reads cards and it seems that when he does her's it always reflects things that he and her Mother want her to do. It is my opinion that a more accurate reading would be done by a stranger and be totally unbiased. I am willing to ammend my thoughts if others see it differently.

Individual interests

It has long been my belief that whatever interests us today was formed by past lives. This idea came to me after I received a reading that stated one of my past incarnations was as an American Indian. I have been curious about native American culture for as long as I can remember.

I also have a very strong interest in everything from the thirties and forties including movies and radio shows. Again, I feel this comes from a past experience.
